Water turret movement control system WTCS
The WTCS controls direction, moving speed, and water column scattering of a fire-fighting water turret. Fire-fighting water turret motion can be controlled by a means of joystick and can has user-defined periodic movement. Concept of WTCS control system allows its integration into a distributed control system of a fire-fighting vehicle through serial communication bus CAN (Controller Area Network) with higher layer protocol (HLP) CANaerospace.
Mechanical parameters
Watter turret is driven by three linear DC motors LINAK with motion screw that enables independent operation of these parts:
- vertical steering of water turret (60°)
- horizontal steering of water turret (350°)
- water column scattering
